September Action of the Month

 Use Social Networking to Spread the Word

Social networking is a great way to spread the word about news, upcoming events and your personal experiences with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association encourages you to take some time this September to build your social media presence so you can help engage the public when the CMTA launches its CMT Awareness Month campaign on Facebook September 1.

By connecting to the CMTA through Facebook and Twitter, you and your friends and followers will have immediate access to our upcoming CMT Awareness Month campaign so you can get involved and help spread the word!  Just by changing your profile picture to the CMT Awareness Poster every time you post a message you will be raising awareness of CMT. It’s that easy!

The CMTA will post tips throughout the month on Facebook and Twitter to help you learn more about using social networking to communicate effectively and raise awareness about Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

Get started by getting connected!

If you are on Facebook, facebook“like” CMTA’s Facebook Page- Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association: The Time is Now  and encourage others to do the same.

Then, SHARE! Ask your friends and followers to “like”    CMTA on Facebook and follow the CMTA on Twitter. Consider posting once a week to raise awareness about CMT among your friends and followers. Here are some sample posts you could use Facebook:CMT Awareness Month is in September, please “like” the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association to be one of the first to hear about the exciting campaign they have planned in September.

I am a [person with CMT, caregiver, health care practitioner, concerned citizen]. With an estimated 6 million people affected by CMT worldwide, this is an issue that needs our attention.

September is CMT Awareness Month, please ‘like’ the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association to learn about what is being done to combat this public health issue.

Spread the word — After you take the Action of the Month, please encourage others to TAKE ACTION:

Forward this email to at least 10 family members, friends, co-workers and community contacts. Add a personal note, explaining why this is important to you and encouraging them to get connected to CMTA online and learn about the latest news, upcoming events and campaigns.

Help us measure our impact and reach. Report back to CMTA that you TOOK ACTION!
